Michael Weller (medical doctor)
Michael Weller (born August 29, 1962 in Rheinbach ) is a German doctor and university lecturer.
Weller studied medicine at the University of Cologne . From 1993 to 1994 he was a habilitation student of the German Research Foundation (DFG) at the University Hospital Zurich , where he worked and researched in the field of clinical immunology . In 1995 he went to the University Clinic Tübingen . In 1997 he completed his habilitation in neurology . He was Senior Consultant in Charge and Deputy Medical Director of the Department of Neurology. In 2005 he was appointed to a C4 professorship for neurology in Erlangen , but turned it down and in October 2005 accepted the appointment of a W3 professor for neurology to succeed Johannes Dichgans .
On January 1, 2008, he accepted a professorship at the University of Zurich.
His research areas are mainly in the area of brain tumors, for which he immunological therapy methods and the like. a. developed using RNA interference .
