Michael Willeitner (born September 5, 1990 ) is a former German biathlete .

Michael Willeitner started for the Berchtesgaden ski club . From the 2011/12 season he started regularly in international races in the IBU Cup . In Haute-Maurienne he won the first points in 19th place, but could not maintain this level at first, then improved steadily until he was regularly in the points from the following season. In 2013 , alongside Tobias Hermann , Johannes Kühn and Benedikt Doll, he achieved a podium result for the first time in the relay race in Obertilliach , finishing third. In the season, which began with fourth place in the cup standings of the German championships , he belongs to the second group of the national squad for the first time after belonging to the promotional squad in the previous season.

Willeitner made his first appearance in the biathlon world cup in the 2014/15 season at the sprint in Hochfilzen , where he missed qualifying for the pursuit race with 69th place. In autumn 2015 he was German champion at the German championships both in the sprint and with the relay of the BSV . After initially mediocre placements in the IBU Cup , he won a sprint in the German Cup in Martell (South Tyrol) in January 2016 and was second behind Fabian Bekelaer in the pursuit that followed .

Willeitner ended his active career in April 2018.
