Michael Wulfes (* 1948 in Marburg ) is a German director , cameraman , producer and screenwriter of documentaries .

Career

Michael Wulfes is a graduate of the Munich University for Television and Film in Munich. From 1978 to 1985 he was initially co-owner of Nanuk-Film GmbH in Munich, where he mainly directed documentaries. In 1985 he left Nanuk-Film and founded Michael Wulfes Filmproduktion, also in Munich. The films made with him as a director are to this day exclusively productions for public television, primarily for broadcasters of the ARD and for Arte. This also applies to his work as a cameraman and writer on films in which he was not the director. In addition, Wulfes wrote and shot industrial films for well-known German companies. Together with the feature film director and writer Jörg Grünler, he wrote two screenplays for cinema. Wulfes also works as a director in entertainment television (Hidden Camera), since 2002 almost exclusively in the BR with Bavarian cabaret artists. As part of his film work, he was nominated for both the Grimme Prize and the Franco-German Journalism Prize.
