biography

Kofler celebrated her first success in February 1995 when she became Austrian junior champion in giant slalom. Three weeks later, she finished 25th in the downhill at the Junior World Championships in Voss, Norway , but she couldn't finish the giant slalom. On December 18, 1996, she finished sixth in the European Cup downhill run from Haus im Ennstal, making it into the top ten for the first time in the European Cup. However, she did not make it back into the top ten for the next two years until she won the Megève Downhill on December 18, 1998 . With another podium finish in the downhill from Veysonnaz , she finished third in the downhill classification in the 1998/99 season and fifth in the overall standings with another five top ten results. In January 1999 she also competed in her first four World Cup races , but did not make it into the points.

In the 1999/2000 European Cup season , Kofler celebrated her second victory on January 4th in the downhill from Tignes . She did not succeed in another podium, but she came in fourth place three times in the Downhill and Super-G, which, however, dropped her to seventh in the downhill classification and ninth in the overall standings. In the World Cup, Kofler drove nine races this winter . She came three times just in the points. In the downhill from Altenmarkt-Zauchensee and in the Super-G from Santa Caterina she finished 28th, the downhill from Åre she finished 29th. The downhill run in Innsbruck on February 25, 2000 was her last World Cup race, in the next few years she was used exclusively in the European Cup.

In the 2000/01 European Cup season , Kofler reached two second places in the downhill from Pra-Loup and in the giant slalom from Ravascletto . With a further seven top ten results, she came fifth in the overall ranking, just like two years ago. She was also fifth in the downhill classification. In the winter of 2001/02 she was on the podium again in the second downhill from Altenmarkt-Zauchensee. Overall, she came eleven times in the top ten, which she was ninth overall in her last season. Kofler ended her career with the Austrian championships in April 2002.

After her athletic career, Kofler completed an apprenticeship as a physiotherapist and osteopath. In 2006 she started her own business and since then has been running a practice in Mayrhofen .
