Mikhail Lifits

Michail Lifits (born September 25, 1982 in Tashkent , Uzbek SSR ) is a German pianist of Uzbek origin.

Life

Born in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) in 1982 pianist Mikhail Lifits began at the age of five years taking piano lessons and studied with Boris Petrushansky at the Piano Academy "Incontri col Maestro" in Imola (Italy), as well as Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and Bernd Goetzke to the Hanover University of Music and Drama .

In 1991 Lifits first appeared in Uzbekistan, followed by concerts in Europe, Asia and the USA. In 1995 he made his debut with the National Philharmonic of Uzbekistan. Concert engagements have taken him to Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Center in New York, the Salle Cortot and the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris , the Teatro della Pergola in Florence, the Sala Verdi in Milan, the Teatro Olimpico in Rome, the Tonhalle in Zurich , the Wigmore Hall in London and the Great Hall of the Berlin Philharmonic . Lifits was a guest at the Kissinger Sommer Festival , the Schwetzinger SWR Festival , the Rheingau Young Talent Festival, the Braunschweig Classix, the Ruhr Piano Festival and the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Festival in Germany as well as at festivals in France, Poland and Italy. Michail Lifits' orchestral engagements include concerts with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin , the Thüringen Philharmonie Gotha , the Florence Symphony Orchestra, the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra del Teatro Verdi di Trieste, the Orchestra J.Futura, the Orchestra Sinfonica del Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana in Palermo.

Michail Lifits has been under contract with the Decca / Universal Classics label since 2011.

Prices

  • 2003: 1st prize and the audience prize at the “Silvio Bengali Piano Prize” at Val Tidone Piano Competitions in Italy;
  • 2004: 1st prize at the international piano competition "46th Award Cittá di Treviso";
  • 2006: 1st prize at the international piano competition "Antonio Napolitano" in Vietri sul Mare;
  • 2006: 1st prize, orchestra prize, a special prize for the best interpretation of Chopin's work, as well as an audience prize at the international piano competition "Rina Sala Gallo" in Monza
  • 2007: 2nd prize at the Kissinger Piano Olympics
  • 2009: 1st prize at the Hilton Head International Piano Competition in USA
  • 2009: 1st prize, audience prize and the special prize for the best interpretation of Mozart's piano concerto at the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in Bolzano (Italy)
