Mikhail Tatarinov ( Russian Михаил Владимирович Татаринов * 16th July 1966 in Angarsk , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player , who in his active between 1983 and 1994, including for the Washington Capitals , Quebec Nordiques and Boston Bruins in National Hockey League has played.
Career
Mikhail Tatarinov began his career as a hockey player at HK Sokol Kiev , for whose professional team he was active in the top Soviet league from 1983 to 1986. The defender then moved to HK Dynamo Moscow , for whom he was on the ice for the following four seasons and with whom he was Soviet champions for the first and only time in his career in the 1989/90 season . In the same season he was elected to the all-star team of the Soviet ice hockey league. Already in the NHL Entry Draft 1984 he was selected in the eleventh round as a total of 225th player by the Washington Capitals , for which he was only used in the 1990/91 season after he had started this at Dynamo Moscow.
In his rookie year in the NHL, Tatarinov scored eight goals in 65 games and provided 15 assists. On June 22, 1991 he was given in exchange for a second-round vote for the NHL Entry Draft 1991 to the Nordiques de Québec . With the Canadians he was able to gain a foothold immediately and increase his yield in the 1991/92 season to 38 points in 66 games. Subsequently, however, the Russian was repeatedly plagued by numerous injuries. Although he received a contract as a free agent with the Boston Bruins on July 30, 1993 , he could only be used sparingly and ended after the 1993/94 season , in which he only worked five times for Boston and its farm team , the Providence Bruins, of the American Hockey League , had stood on the ice at the age of 28 prematurely his career.
International
For the Soviet Union Tatarinow took part in the junior division at the Junior European Championships in 1984, as well as the Junior World Championships in 1984 , 1985 and 1986 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at Rendez-vous '87 , as well as at the 1990 World Cup and the Canada Cup in 1991 .
