Michel-Marie Calvet
Michel-Marie-Bernard Calvet SM (born September 29, 1944 in Autun , Saône-et-Loire , France ) is Archbishop of Nouméa .
Life
Michel-Marie Calvet joined the religious order of the Marist Fathers . The auxiliary bishop in Grenoble , Michel Louis Marie Joseph Mondésert , ordained him a priest on April 28, 1973 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Nigrae Maiores and auxiliary bishop in Nouméa on July 4, 1979 . He was ordained episcopal on November 4th of the same year by the Archbishop of Nouméa, Eugène Klein MSC ; Co- consecrators were Laurent Fuahea , Bishop of Wallis and Futuna , and Michel-Gaspard Coppenrath , Archbishop of Papeete .
On June 19, 1981, he was appointed Archbishop of Nouméa.
