Michel Decastel (born October 22, 1955 ) is a former Swiss football player and today's coach .

Career as a player

He played for Neuchâtel Xamax, Racing Strasbourg, Servette FC Genève and at the end of his football career again for Neuchâtel Xamax.

With Servette FC Genève, Decastel won the Swiss championship title in the 1984/1985 season and the Swiss Cup in 1984 .

National team

Decastel made 19 international matches for the Swiss national team between 1982 and 1986 .

Career as a coach

From November 1989 Decastel coached FC Colombier, for which he also worked as a player after his re-amateurization in 1990. Then trained various clubs in Switzerland, including Yverdon-Sport FC, FC Sion, SR Delémont. From summer 1999 he moved abroad and trained various teams. In summer 2012 he came back to Switzerland and looked after FC Sion. From October 2015 to January 2019 he coached Neuchâtel Xamax from the Super League.
