Michela Azzola (born November 20, 1991 in Bergamo ) is an Italian ski racer . Your strongest discipline is the slalom .

biography

Azzola took part in FIS races and national (youth) championships from winter 2006/2007 . The first irregular starts in the European Cup followed in January 2008. In 2009 and 2010 Azzola took part in the Junior World Championships and achieved 20th place in the 2009 slalom in Garmisch-Partenkirchen as the best result . At the Italian youth and junior championships, she reached three second places in 2009 and 2010.

After Azzola had won first points in the European Cup in winter 2009/2010, she achieved her first top 10 result in this racing series on December 19, 2010 as fifth in the giant slalom in Limone Piemonte . After two further placements in the top ten, she celebrated her first European Cup victory on March 18, 2012 in the Courmayeur slalom , the last race of the 2011/2012 season . The second followed at the beginning of next winter , on November 26th, 2012 in the Vemdalen slalom . A month before that, on October 27, 2012, she had competed in the World Cup for the first time in the giant slalom in Sölden . Azzola won the first World Cup points on December 29, 2012 with 19th place in the slalom in Semmering . At the end of the season she was able to win the slalom discipline of the European Cup. She achieved her best World Cup result so far on January 5, 2014 with 11th place in the slalom in Bormio .
