Michelangelo , real name Rainer Limpert , (born May 10, 1946 in Binenwalde, Gühlen-Glienicke ) is a German pop singer .

Life

Rainer Limpert attended grammar school up to Obersekunda and then completed his training as a bookseller . In Frankfurt am Main he took singing lessons and worked in his brother's pop band.

In 1969 he published his first single, she wears blue, blue, blue and appeared with his accompanying musicians as Michelangelo and his Group on October 18, 1969 in Dieter Thomas Heck's ZDF hit parade . The singles She wears blue, blue, blue and Like a Fireworks made it into the "Top 20" of Musikmarkt magazine . In 1971 he was able to place his title You are my love in the Dutch "Top 40" for two weeks and reached number 22. On September 13, 1971, he appeared as a singer in the ZDF magazine Die Drehscheibe . Outside the Netherlands he achieved no chart success. A day with Maria was also published by Michael Holm in 1972.

When Gunter “Yogi” Lauke was looking for singers for the Family Tree vocal ensemble at the request of Albert-Carl Weiland ( SR ) in 1971 , he brought Limpert on board. Limpert sang with the formation until the breakup in 1975.
