Michele Tomasi (born July 9, 1965 in Bozen , Italy ) is an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman. He is the Bishop of Treviso .

Life

Michele Tomasi joined in 1992 the seminary of the Diocese of Bolzano-Bressanone and received on 28 June 1998, the sacrament of Holy Orders . He initially worked in Merano's community work until 2006 . In 2000 Tomasi also became a lecturer at the Philosophical-Theological University of Bressanone . After becoming rector of the Bolzano-Brixen seminary in 2010, he served as vicar general for the Italian language group of the diocese from 2012 to 2016 .

On July 6, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Treviso. He was ordained bishop on September 14th of the same year by Ivo Muser , Bishop of Bozen-Brixen. Co- consecrators were Lauro Tisi , Archbishop of Trento , and Tomasi's predecessor emeritus Gianfranco Gardin . Tomasi's inauguration took place on October 6, 2019.
