biography

Michelle Meadows was born in the United States in 1981 and lived in Los Angeles until she was three years old before moving to Sweden with her family. The daughter of an American father and a Swedish mother grew up in the Stockholm suburbs of Rissne and Spånga . As a child she warmed herself to the theater, later she counted making VHS films to her hobbies. Despite the desire to become an actress, she studied civil engineering and media technology at the Royal Technical University of Stockholm until 2007 and financed her living by changing professions.

Although Meadows never attended drama school, she got an extra role in 2001 in the Swedish short film Mellan Himmel och häben . Two years later, TV producer Johan Kling staged her in his first short film, Jag, as the self-loving higher daughter Eva. After further supporting roles in the Swedish drama Kärlekens språk 2000 (2004) and Martin Munthes Swedish-American co-production Stinger (2005) she brought Johan Kling back in front of the camera in 2007 for the title role in his debut feature film Darling . In the elegant and black-humored capital of the city, she slipped again into the role of the style-conscious and arrogant Eva, who is endured by her boyfriend and her mother and who works out of boredom. After cheating on her partner and losing her mother's financial help, she has to swap life in expensive restaurants and nightclubs for a job at McDonald’s , where she meets a much older divorced, recently unemployed engineer (played by Michael Segerström ) .

Darling received international praise from film critics, while in Sweden the film is seen as a kind of generation film of the 21st century . The “outstanding performance” of his main actress, who was nominated for the most important Swedish film award for best actress , the Guldbagge , in 2008 also received recognition . While Meadow's film partner Michael Segerström won the award, she was left behind against Sofia Ledarp ( Who You Love ). In the same year she was part of the acting ensemble of Miko Lazic 's thriller Iscariot (2008), alongside Gustaf Skarsgård , Michael Nyqvist and Helena af Sandeberg . In 2010 a new collaboration with Johan Kling an Puss followed , but the romantic comedy could not build on the great success of Darling .
