Michelle Perry (born May 1, 1979 in Granada Hills , California ) is an American athlete who became world champion in the 100-meter hurdles in 2005 and 2007 .

Hurdler Michelle Perry was originally a heptathlete with a solid personal best of 6126 points, which she set up in the US qualifying competitions for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens . With this result she was third in the US trials and 14th in the Olympic competition. Outstanding results in her competition in Athens were the 12.74 s over 100 meter hurdles.

Her strength in the hurdles also ensured that she and her trainer Bob Kersee (husband of the heptathlon world record holder Jackie Joyner-Kersee ) concentrated on the hurdles sprint from then on. With success, because at the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005 she immediately became world champion when she first started with the specialists. Her personal best over the 100 meter hurdles is 12.43 s (2005 and 2006). In 2007, Perry led the world annual best before the World Championships in Osaka with 12.44 s. In Osaka it almost came close to this time at 12.46 s; during this time she was able to successfully defend her title.

With a height of 1.72 m, she has a competition weight of 58 kg.
