Michael "Mick" Connell (born November 9, 1961 in Liverpool ) is an Australian wheelchair tennis player .

Career

Mick Connell started wheelchair tennis at the age of 20 and starts in the paraplegic class .

He took in 1988 at the Paralympic Games in Seoul in part, was as a wheelchair tennis as a demonstration sport in the program. In the individual competition, he finished second behind Laurent Giammartini . 1992 in Barcelona started again in singles and reached the quarterfinals, in which he was defeated by Abde Naili . At the 1996 Games in Atlanta , he was eliminated in the second round against Laurent Giammartini. For the first time he also started in doubles, his partner was David Hall . The two reached the final, which they lost to Stephen Welch and Vance Parmelly in the tie-break of the third set.

In the world rankings, he achieved his best placings with third place in singles on February 2, 1993 and with the world rankings in doubles on October 18, 1994.
