Midlothian North and Musselburgh is a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was in 2011 during the revision of electoral boundaries as one of nine constituencies of the election region Lothian introduced. The constituency emerged from the split of the constituency of Edinburgh East and Musselburgh , which was essentially merged into Edinburgh Eastern and Midlothian North and Musselburgh. The area of Midlothian North and Musselburgh includes the parts of the Council Areas East Lothian and Midlothian with the cities of Musselburgh , Dalkeith and Bonnyrigg . The constituency sends a representative.
The constituency extends over an area of 189.4 km 2 . In the 2011 census survey, a total of 78,174 people lived within its borders.
