Miguel Abia Biteo Boricó

Miguel Abia Biteo Boricó (* 1961 ; † December 6, 2012 ) was Prime Minister of Equatorial Guinea from June 14, 2004 to 2006 .

Life

In a country that is dominated by the Fang , he belongs as a boy to an ethnic group that otherwise has little political influence.

Biteo lived and studied in the Soviet Union , where he became a mining engineer . After returning to Equatorial Guinea, he worked for the government and became one of the most powerful officials in the petroleum industry in his country. From 1999 to 2000 he was Minister of Finance . He is a close confidante of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo , who appointed him Prime Minister. His cabinet abdicated on August 10, 2006 and was replaced four days later by the government of former Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Mangue Obama Nfubea .
