Miguel Coimbra (born December 9, 1977 ) is a French freelance illustrator and graphic artist of Portuguese origin.

According to his own account, Coimbra began drawing in his childhood, and his special interest in games and fantasy topics was aroused by the trading card game Magic: The Gathering . In 2005 Coimbra moved to Lyon and initially worked as a graphic designer for the local video game developer Eden Games , working on the titles Test Drive Unlimited and Alone in the Dark , among others .

Since 2006 Coimbra has been working primarily as an illustrator for board and card games . His better-known works include the board games Small World and Cyclades, and the card game 7 Wonders . Illustrations of him can also be found in several trading card games , including the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game and Star Wars Galaxies . Coimbra also illustrated several book covers and concept art for computer games .
