Miguel Kertsman (* 1965 in Recife , Brazil ) is a US-Brazilian composer , musician (keyboards) and music producer.

education

Kertsman graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1986 (Music, Production and Engineering). Further musical studies at the Boston Conservatory (orchestral conducting with Mo. Attilio Poto) and at the Juilliard School in New York (composition with Stanley Wolfe).

Musical creation

Kertsman's artistic spectrum ranges from classical orchestral music , chamber music , vocal music , musical theater , through jazz , pop and electronic music to works for film and interactive media. His music has been performed worldwide by artists such as Angelika Kirchschlager , John Williams , Dennis Russell Davies , the London Philharmonic Orchestra , Bruckner Orchester Linz and the St. Paul's Chamber Orchestra, published on CD by labels Sony Classical, RCA Victor Group and by the Universal Edition as well as other music publishers.

Music production

He was also active as a music producer (e.g. Sony Classical's Bruno Walter Edition, Bernstein Royal Edition, Jean-Pierre Rampal , John Williams , Angelika Kirchschlager , Wolfgang Schulz , Dennis Russell Davies , jazz guitarist Badi Assad, DJ David Morales, Frankie Knuckles ), held senior positions in the music industry and worked as a consultant in the field of sound and recording technology as well as acoustics for clients such as Sony, Kirkegaard Acoustics (Royal Festival Hall, London; Carnegie Hall, New York; Bavarian State Opera, Munich) Chesky Records , RCA Victor Group and many others.

Teaching activity

Miguel Kertsman teaches at various American and European universities: Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy (a division of Robert de Niros Tribeca Enterprises, Northwestern University, Vienna University of Music). He is the Academic Program Director for the postgraduate Master of Arts program "Music for Film & Media" and "Music Management" at Danube University Krems , whose curriculum he developed.
