career

Pereira was already in the Bundesliga squad of FC Schalke 04 at the age of 18; The offensive midfielder made his debut in the Bundesliga on November 5, 1993 when he came on for Uwe Scherr in the 60th minute of the match against VfB Leipzig . It was almost a year and a half before his second assignment; on April 15, 1995 he came to VfB Stuttgart shortly before the end for Radoslav Látal on the field. Over the full 90 minutes he was only allowed to go “to Schalke” once in five Bundesliga years, on his third appearance on the last day of the 1994/95 season . Despite his first and only Bundesliga goal in the 40th minute, the "Knappen" lost this game 1: 2 against SC Freiburg .

For the 1995/96 season, Pereira was loaned to regional league team Preußen Münster , but returned to Gelsenkirchen after the season. In the 1996/97 season he won the UEFA Cup with Schalke ; by the end of the 1998/99 season he had a total of 16 appearances in midfield and attack in the royal blue jersey. During this time he took part with the Angolan national team in the Africa Cup and was used in all three preliminary round matches against South Africa , Namibia and the Ivory Coast ; against Namibia he scored the equalizer for the 3: 3 final score.

FC St. Pauli brought him to Hamburg as a striker for the 1999/2000 season ; After four committed but unsuccessful attempts, he was able to contribute the third goal to the 3-1 away win as a substitute in Mannheim on the 6th matchday shortly before the end. However, this should remain his only second division; after 15 appearances in the "Kiezkickern" he moved after the season to TSV 1860 Munich , where he played in the second team in the Regionalliga Süd and after relegation in 2001 for two years in the Bayernliga . In 2003 he returned to the Ruhr area and was active for two seasons at the top division VfB Hüls . Since 2005 he has been in a dispute with the employers' liability insurance association over the consequences of a knee injury. In the 2005/06 season he was another season in the Regionalliga at Wattenscheid 09 , after which he returned to VfB Hüls.

Trainer

Shortly after his return to VfB Hüls, he also became a youth coach at the Gladbeck suburb SV Zweckel; in the 2007/08 season he took over as coach of the SVZ's first team in the district league and was able to save the team from relegation. After his resignation as the first team coach, Pereira stayed as a youth coach at SV Zweckel and took the course for a coach B license . For the 2009/10 season, Miguel Pereira, together with Stefan Urbainski, took over the coaching position of the first team of SV Zweckel , who planned to march through after promotion to the national league. At the end of the season, Pereira reached the 3rd place in the table with the club and took over the club's A-youth again for the new season.
