Miguel Ríos Campaña (born June 7, 1944 in Granada , Spain ), known as Miguel Ríos , is a Spanish musician and rock singer .

Career

His world hit A Song of Joy was released in 1969, took him to number 1 on the German, Austrian and Swiss charts in June 1970, as well as to top positions in Spain, the USA and Great Britain and sold seven million copies. The title is a version of the fourth movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's 9th Symphony designed with elements of pop music . It was arranged and produced by Waldo de los Ríos .

In 1970 he received the Golden Lion from Radio Luxemburg for A Song of Joy . He sang the title in 1971 in the German hit film That knocks down the strongest twin . Also in 1971 he took first place with the title Sunshine and Rainbow at the Grand Prix RTL International .
