Miguel Sapochnik (also known as Miguel Rosenberg-Sapochnik ) is a British film and television director .

Career

Sapochnik was involved in various Hollywood productions as a storyboard artist from 1996, including the film Trainspotting - New Heroes . His first directorial work on a short film, The Dreamer , appeared in 2000. Here Sapochnik was also responsible for the script. In 2010, celebrated Sapochnik his directorial debut with a feature film with the sci-fi - thriller Repo Men , on the u. a. Jude Law and Forest Whitaker contributed.

He won an Emmy for best director in a drama series for directing the episode The Battle of the Bastards . After Sapochnik did not return for the seventh season , he took over the direction of the third and fifth episodes of the final eighth season of Game of Thrones.

Sapochnik has been married to Russian actress Alexis Raben since 2006.
