Mihael Lendovšek

Mihael Lendovšek (pseudonyms: Bogoslav , ML Rogacki , Mirko Sotlan , Mijo Lendov ; born August 15, 1844 in Rohitsch , † March 22, 1920 in Makole ) was a Slovenian writer and Catholic clergyman .

Josip Lendovšek's brother was chaplain in Gonobitz , Pettau after his ordination in 1869 and finally in Maxau from 1883 . Here he founded an advance fund and an agricultural cooperative in 1900.

As a high school student, he wrote an article for Andrej Einspieler's magazine Slovenec and published poems in the almanacs Torbica and Lada and the magazine Novice . In addition to theological writings and religious poetry, he published several dramas, including Slomskovo rojstvo on the 100th birthday of Bishop Anton Martin Slomšek , whose writings he edited in six volumes. The piece Ticnik (after August von Kotzebue's Der Käfig ) was set to music by Benjamin Ipavec .
