Mikael Neville Anderson (born July 1, 1998 in Reykjavík , Iceland ) is an Icelandic - Danish football player . He is under contract with FC Midtjylland . In addition to the Icelandic citizenship, he also has Danish citizenship and therefore ran for both the Icelandic and Danish national teams; Anderson currently plays for the Icelandic U21 national team and also belongs to the extended circle of the Icelandic senior national team.

Mikael Anderson is the son of a Jamaican father and an Icelandic mother. After moving to Denmark at the age of ten, he joined the amateur club Harlev IK. In the U14, Anderson moved from Aarhus GF to the academy of FC Midtjylland . At the age of 14 he was invited to a trial training session at Aston Villa . On October 5, 2016, Anderson received a professional contract with FC Midtjylland with a term until 2021. On December 4, 2016, he played for the first time for the professional team in a 0: 1 on matchday 20 of the Superliga in the home game against his former club Aarhus GF. At the end of August 2017, Anderson moved to Vendsyssel FF on loan in the second-class 1st division , with which he was promoted to the super league. He then returned to FC Midtjylland, which in turn awarded him to the Netherlands on July 2, 2018, to the first division club Excelsior Rotterdam . On August 11, 2018, he played for Excelsior in the top Dutch division for the first time in a 1-1 draw on the first day of the Eredivisie 2018/19 against Fortuna Sittard . Exactly one month later, he scored his first goal for the Rotterdam team in a 4-2 draw on matchday four in the neighborhood duel against ADO Den Haag . National team

Mikael Anderson played three times for the Icelandic U17 national team before he decided to play for the Danish national team. For the Danish U18 national team and for the Danish U19 national team, he completed one game each. He then ran again for the Icelandic national team and currently plays for the Icelandic U21 national team.

On January 11, 2018, he played for the first time for the Icelandic national team in a 6-0 win in an unofficial friendly match against Indonesia in Sleman .
