Mike Brant

Mike Brant ( Hebrew מייק בראנט; * February 2, 1947 in Nicosia , Republic of Cyprus ; † April 25, 1975 in Paris , France ; actually Moshe Mikael fire ) was a very popular Israeli song - singer . From 1970 to 1975 he was one of the most successful singers in France. His voice was voluminous and expressive. Brant mainly recorded records in French, but also in German or English. At the height of his career, he ended his life himself.

Life

In 1970 Brant published his first super hit in France with Laisse-moi t'aimer . This was followed by number one hits like Qui saura , C'est ma prière (1972), Rien qu'une larme , Tout donné, tout repris (1973) and Dis-lui (1975, a French cover of Feelings by Morris Albert ).

In 1970 he took first place at the Grand Prix RTL International with the chanson Mais dans la lumière ; With this, he also made it into the German charts once in 1970 (position 34). After that he recorded singles like Liebe wants more or Au revoir for the German market, but was not very successful in doing so, in contrast to his colleague Mireille Mathieu . In 1973 he was voted singer of the year in France.

After his suicide in 1975 Brant was buried in Haifa , Israel . Numerous compilations of his music are still published today .
