Michael Wayne Daniels Jr. (* 5. May 1989 in Stratford , New Jersey ) is an American American football poker players. He played 7 years with the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League (NFL) on the position of defensive tackle . Most recently, Daniels played for the Detroit Lions .
college
Daniels, who showed athletic talent at an early age and also excelled as a light athlete and wrestler during high school , attended the University of Iowa and successfully played college football for their team, the Hawkeyes, from 2008 to 2011 . In 47 games he was able to set 123 tackles and score 15.5 sacks .
NFL
Green Bay Packers
In the 2012 NFL Draft , he was selected in the fourth round as a total of 132nd by the Green Bay Packers . In his rookie year he played in 14 games and occasionally appeared in the special teams . After two seasons as a backup in various positions on the defensive line , he advanced to the Starting Right Defensive Tackle in 2014 and has since been one of the pillars of the Packers' defense.
In December 2015, he was awarded a new four-year contract valued at $ 42 million , making him one of the highest-paid defensive linemen in the league.
In 2017 Daniels was appointed to the Pro Bowl for the first time for his consistently good performance .
On July 24, 2019, he was released from the Green Bay Packers.
Detroit Lions
Just two days later, Daniels signed a $ 9.1 million one-year deal with the Detroit Lions .
