Mike Reddick

Michael Reddick (born February 14,  1963 in Savannah ) is a retired American basketball player .

career

Reddick grew up in Savannah, Georgia , and attended Sol C. Johnson High School until 1980. From 1980 to 1984 he was at Stetson University in Florida . He studied physical education there and was a member of the college basketball team. The 2.03-meter-long winger took part in 98 games with Stetson, recording an average of 11.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per encounter. In 1981 he won an international basketball tournament in Taiwan with a selection of students from the United States and in 1982 a tournament in Seoul, Korea . In the 1984 NBA draft , the rights to Reddick went to the Milwaukee Bucks (sixth selection round, 136th place). Milwaukee did not use the right and did not sign Reddick.

His first professional basketball club was the French first division club Saint Etienne in the 1984/85 season. Reddick was used in 26 league games, averaging 18.9 points and 12.1 rebounds. In 1985/86 he was under contract with Verviers in Belgium .

In 1986 he moved to EBBC Den Bosch in the Netherlands . In the playing years 1986/87 and 1987/88 he won the national championship title with Den Bosch. Reddick scored 18.3 points and 7 rebounds per game in 1986/87, then 22 points and 14 rebounds in 1987/88. In his third year in Den Bosch (1988/89) the American achieved an average of 20.4 points per match. Reddick also competed with Den Bosch in the European Cup .

Reddick continued his career in Italy  : In the playing years 1989/90 and 1990/91 he was  under contract with Pallacanestro Reggiana , 1992/93 with Cagiva Varese and 1993/94 with Acqua Lora Venezia. In 1994/95 he was under contract with Ülkerspor in Turkey and 1995/96 in the same country with Meysuspor.

After the end of his playing days, Reddick became a coach in his home country. He worked for two years as an assistant coach at Westlake High School in Georgia and from 1997 as head coach at South Atlanta High School in Atlanta . There Derrick Favors was temporarily one of his protégés.
