Miklós Dudás

Miklós Dudás, OSBM (born October 27, 1902 in Máriapócs , Austria-Hungary , † July 15, 1972 in Nyíregyháza, Hungary ) was bishop of the Greek Catholic diocese of Hajdúdorog .

Life

Miklós Dudás was born in 1902 in Máriapócs , Hungary, belonging to the Nyírbátor and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County .

After his successful novitiate and profession , Miklós Dudás was admitted to the religious order of the Basilians of St. Josaphat (OSBM) added. This religious community lives according to the rules of the order of St. Basil the Great . The sacrament of ordination was given to Miklós Dudás on September 8, 1927 in Máriapócs. He was almost 25 years old at the time.

At the age of 36, on March 25, 1939, Miklós Dudás was appointed bishop of the Hungarian Greek Catholic diocese of Hajdúdorog . Shortly thereafter, on May 14, 1939, he was ordained a bishop . The Greek Catholic Apostolic Administrator of the Exarchate Miskolc Antal Papp acted as the main consecrator ; Co-consecrators were the bishops Endre Kriston and Zoltan Lajos Meszlény .

On July 15, 1972 Dudás died in Nyíregyháza at the age of 69. In total, Miklós Dudás had been active in pastoral ministry for 44 years , including 33 years as bishop of the Diocese of Hajdúdorog.
