Milan Ružić (born July 25, 1955 in Rijeka , † January 26, 2014 there ) was a Yugoslav football player . He played in two international matches for the Yugoslav national team .

Athletic career

Ružić played from 1976 for NK Rijeka in the Prva Liga . In 1978 he won his first title with the team, in the final for the Kup Maršala Tita , Milan Radović scored the decisive goal in extra time to win 1-0 over KF Trepça and in the Balkans Cup the club defeated the Romanian representative Jiul Petroşani . With a 2-1 win in the first leg and a 0-0 draw in the second leg, the title was defended against FK Partizan Belgrade the following year . With the club he subsequently also competed in the European Cup , but the team usually failed early in the competition. 1980 achieved a respectable success when they wrested a 0-0 draw from Juventus Turin .

In 1983 Ružić played his only two international matches when the Balkan eleven met Romania and Germany respectively . In the same year he left Yugoslavia after reaching the age limit of 28 years, which at the time limited the change from a socialist state to the West, and joined the Belgian club K. Beringen FC . In the summer of 1984, however, he was relegated with the team from the First Division , after which he moved on to KAA Gent . Not least thanks to protagonists such as Søren Busk , Michel De Wolf , Cees Schapendonk , René Mücher and Hubert Cordiez, the club had a successful time and was the reigning cup winner . After the death of the patron Albert De Meester in 1986, the club ran into financial problems a short time later, which resulted in player sales. In 1988 Ružić moved to the second division team KRC Harelbeke , and from 1989 he ended his active career at the Dutch club HSV Hoek .
