Milena Govich (born October 29, 1976 in Norman , Oklahoma ) is an American actress who is known for her role as Nina Cassady in the television series Law & Order .

Life

Milena Govich grew up in Norman, Oklahoma, the daughter of two singing professors Bruce and Marilyn Govich. She attended Norman High School and the University of Central Oklahoma, learned ballet, violin and singing. After graduating from college in 1999, Govich moved to New York, where she initially appeared on Broadway , including in the musicals Cabaret , The Boys from Syracuse and Good Vibrations .

The actress made her debut in front of the camera in 2004 in the independent short film Bad Behavior . In 2005 Govich got a supporting role in the television series Rescue Me , which she played in a total of 16 episodes until 2009. Also in 2005 she was seen in a guest role in the 16th season of the crime series Law & Order , in the following year she received two leading roles within the franchise . First she played the prosecutor Jessica Rossi in the short-lived Law & Order spin-off Conviction , followed six months later in a leading role in the 17th season of Law & Order , where she succeeded Dennis Farina as investigator Nina Cassady . In June 2007, however, it was announced that her contract for the 18th season would not be renewed.

Since then, Govich has mainly appeared in supporting roles, including in the series K-Ville , Psych , The Defenders and Make It or Break It .

The actress has been married to the composer and playwright David Cornue since 2003.
