Military Medal (Luxembourg)
The military medal was donated on October 30, 1945 at the suggestion of Prince Jean by Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg and can be bestowed on all military personnel, regardless of rank and without exception, for outstanding services and deeds.
Appearance and wearing style
The round medal made of bronze shows the portrait of the Grand Duchess turned to the left with the inscription CHARLOTTE GRANDE-DUCHESSE DE LUXEMBOURG . Three five-pointed stars can be seen side by side under the head. On the reverse the crowned Luxembourg coat of arms and the year 19 40 (occupation of Luxembourg) separated by the coat of arms .
The decoration, which is the highest military award in the country, is worn on a blue ribbon with an orange central and edge stripe on the left side of the chest.
