The Millburn Park is a football stadium in Scotland Alexandria , County West Dunbartonshire , about 25 kilometers northwest of Glasgow is located. It has been the home of FC Vale of Leven since 1888, which played in the Scottish Football League between 1890 and 1926 .
history
Millburn Park opened in August 1888 when Vale of Leven moved here from North Street Park. A grandstand from the previous stadium was dismantled and rebuilt on the east side of the new field in Millburn Park, which was surrounded by a cinder track . There was a covered grandstand on the west side of the pitch and a pavilion in the south-east corner .
Vale of Leven was a founding member of the Scottish Football League , and the first league game was played on August 30, 1890 at Millburn Park against FC Abercorn . The game ended in a 2-1 win. At the end of the 1891/92 season , the club rose from the 1st division in Scotland. From 1905 the club played second class before it was only third class from 1925 . For economic reasons, the league was dissolved before the end of the 1925/26 season and all teams except Forfar Athletic were assigned to the amateur area. The last game in the Scottish Football League was played at Millburn Park on April 3, 1926, when Vale of Leven played 2-2 against FC Mid-Annandale .
There was a record attendance in February 1922, when 8,000 spectators saw a game in the second round of the Scottish Cup against Alloa Athletic .
The FC Vale of Leven was dissolved in 1928 and re-established in 1939. He now plays in the West of Scotland Football League , the sixth division in Scotland.
Only half of the former covered grandstand has a roof. Seats and a floodlight system are not available. It is located between the A82 road and the Leven River , a tributary of the Clyde .
