history
Millbury originated in Lake Township , which was formed from 1844 on the area of township No. 7 N, row 12 E. The Lake Township belonged to Perrysburg until September 3, 1838, from then until it was founded as a separate administrative unit to Troy Township.
The first Millbury land map dates from 1864. The Cleveland and Toledo Railroad maintained a level crossing there, called the area Clay Junction, and built a guard station . The first track attendants were Milo Gage and George Hewitt. In 1856, when a post office was to be set up, Hewitt suggested that the new place be named after the village of Millbury , Massachusetts , as he himself came from that area and later returned. The suggestion from the rest of the residents was Mark Lane . After a decision had been made by tossing a coin , the lot fell on Hewitt's idea. On September 10, 1874 Millbury got the status of a village, in 1890 the parish had 546 inhabitants.
