Milodraž in the Middle Ages
Despite exciting information related to the residence of Bosnian rulers, it is not completely clear what the term Milodraž meant in the Middle Ages . No archaeological excavations have been carried out and, in the absence of visible material remains, it is believed that Milodraž was the temporary summer residence of the Bosnian rulers. Its structure was not made of stone, but rather of wood and movable tents, of which there are no surviving traces.
Milodraž was first mentioned on August 18, 1421 as the place of issue of a document from Tvrtko II to Dubrovnik , in which the documents of his predecessors were confirmed.
Two royal weddings are associated with the Milodraž area:
- In the summer of 1428 Tvrtko II concluded with the Hungarian princess. Garai Dorottya (Bosnian, Croatian: Doroteja Gorjanska) and cousin of Sigismund of Luxembourg marriage
- In the spring of 1446 , Stjepan Tomaš married Katarina Kosača-Kotromanić , daughter of Duke Stjepan Vukčić Kosača
The Ahdnama of Fojnica was published here in 1463 . In addition, the meeting between the Franciscan Anđeo Zvizdović and Mehmed II took place in Milodraž .
