Milt Kleeb
Milton "Milt" Kleeb (born September 20, 1919 in South Bend , Washington ; † October 2, 2015 ) was an American jazz musician ( baritone saxophone , bass clarinet ), arranger and composer who lived most of his life in the Pacific Northwest of the United States States was active.

Kleeb, who was originally self-taught in music theory , attended Lewis & Clark College in Portland , Oregon and served as a musician and arranger in the US Army during World War II; 1944/45 he wrote arrangements (u. A. "Boyd's Nest" and "Bobby Socks") for the big band from Boyd Raeburn . In the post-war period, Kleeb continued his career as a musician and arranger; u. a. he arranged for the Dizzy Gillespie Big Band ("Interlude"). Together with Bill Ramsay he led a big band with which he performed with Pete Christlieb ( Red Kelly's Heroes , 1997). Kleeb was involved in 16 recording sessions from 1944 to 2009, most recently with the singer / pianist Primo Kim. Most recently he presented the album Something If Nothing Else , recorded with his Dectet 2010 . Kleeb, who last lived in Bellingham (Washington) , was married to the jazz singer Judy Bevan.
