Milton Carruth

Milton Carruth (born March 23, 1899 in Coronado , California , † September 7, 1972 in Los Angeles , California) was an American film editor .

Life

Carruth had worked as an independent editor since 1929 and was involved in film editing in more than 120 productions up to and including 1966 . In 1936 and 1937 he directed seven films himself; once he appeared as a screenwriter. In the early 1930s, he was involved in several classic horror films, including Dracula (1931) and The Mummy (1932).

Directors, with whom he collaborated several times, were Douglas Sirk and Michael Gordon . In 1943 he worked with Alfred Hitchcock for the first time and once on Im Schatten des Doubles .
