Mimi and Josefin , also known as Mimi & Josy , are a German singing duo from Augsburg . In 2019 they won the 7th season of The Voice Kids as the first duo in the history of the television show.
Life
They are the daughters of the soprano Hélène Lindqvist and the music professor Philipp Vogler and most recently attended the Maria Ward secondary school in Augsburg .
The Voice Kids
In 2019, the sisters took part in the seventh season of the talent show The Voice Kids . With their blind audition they convinced all coaches and decided on the country singers The BossHoss . In the battles they prevailed against their opponents Greta and Kimberley. In the sing-offs, The BossHoss decided to send both to the finals. For viral hit their version of was Radiohead -Klassikers Creep , over 45 million times on YouTube was retrieved.
In the live show, Mimi & Josy prevailed against Erik and won the audience voting as the first duo in The Voice history of Germany. In the finale, they interpreted Nothing Compares 2 U by Sinéad O'Connor .
After their victory, they recorded their first single Little Help with The BossHoss , which was released on May 3, 2019. For the single, the duo, which became known as Mimi & Josefin during The Voice Kids, changed its name to Mimi & Josy. On the morning of the day of publication, the two siblings appeared on the morning show Sebastian Winkler and the early morning show from Bayern 3 , where they first heard the single on the radio. In the afternoon they played a free concert in their hometown Augsburg, followed by a meet & greet .
The single reached number 32 in the German charts and number 41 in the Swiss charts .
In the course of 2019 they appeared at several large events such as the Augsburg Press Ball and the Hope Gala in Dresden. In September they appeared as the opening act for Michael Patrick Kelly in front of 10,000 spectators on Munich's Königsplatz.
In 2020, the two will again be part of the TV show The Voice Kids. This time, as backstage presenters, they give insights behind the scenes and give samples of their own, previously unreleased songs.
