Mimi Lorenzini
Marius "Mimi" Lorenzini (born September 24, 1949 in La-Seyne-sur-Mer , † December 12, 2014 in Montfermeil ) was a French guitarist specializing in progressive rock , jazz and fusion .
Live and act
Lorenzini began his musical career in the 1960s and initially played in various musical contexts such as jazz (with Barney Wilen and René Urtreger , among others ), variety and chanson ; u. a. as accompanist for France Gall , Jacques Dutronc and Claude François . In 1969 he co-founded the progressive rock formation Triangle , in which François Jeanneau also played and with whom he recorded three albums for Pathé . In the following years he was active in jazz and improvised music, mainly in collaboration with Jean-François Jenny-Clark .
From the 1980s onwards, Lorenzini recorded several albums under his own name and also recorded a. a. with Didier Malherbe , Jean-Marc Padovani and François Tusques ( Blue Phedre , 1996). From 2005 he worked in the musicians' association MusiSeine , which was directed by Françoise Toullec , and in the formation Géométrie Variable . In the field of jazz he was involved in 13 recording sessions between 1968 and 2003. Most recently he lived in Marcilly-sur-Seine . He died of a heart attack .
