Mina Markovič (born November 23, 1987 in Maribor ) is a Slovenian sport climber . She is mainly active in climbing competitions , in the disciplines of lead and bouldering. On the rock she reached the level of difficulty 9a with the route La Fabela Por La Enmienda .

Career

Markovič started her competitive career in 2001. She took part in the Junior European Cup in the lead and in the World Junior Championships, where she finished 5th in the lead and 22nd place in the speed discipline . In 2003 she gave up speed climbing and from then on focused on lead. Between 2004 and 2006 Markovič took part in the World Cups in lead. Her best result was fifth place in Kranj . At the same time, she continued to take part in the European Junior Cup, which she won in 2005. In 2009 she made it to second place at the annual Rock Master Event in Arco . In 2011 she took part in World Cups in bouldering and lead at the same time. In bouldering, she made it to fifth place in the overall ranking, although she won the World Cup in Munich . In the lead, she was a lot more successful: third in Puurs , second in Briançon and Boulder , and first in Chamonix , Xining , Changzhi , Amman and Barcelona . With that she won the overall ranking in lead ahead of her competitors Kim Jain and Maja Vidmar . In 2012 she won the Lead World Cup for the second time (three wins and four second places). She also won the World Cup Overall title in 2011 and 2012 (disciplines bouldering, lead and speed). In 2013 and 2014 she took second place in the Lead Cup Overall, behind her long-time competitor Kim Jain. In 2015, Markovič was back on top of the winners' podium and won the Lead World Cup for the third time in her career. In addition, this year she was able to commit several routes in the lower eleventh degree red point on the rock . Her most difficult route to date was achieved in December 2015 with the route La Fabela Por La Enmienda 9a.
