Changzhi ( Chinese 長治 市 / 长治 市 , Pinyin Chángzhì Shì ) is a district-free city in the southwest of the Chinese province of Shanxi . It administers a territory of 13,954 square kilometers and had a resident population of 3,420,400 inhabitants at the end of 2015.
The 2000 population census showed a total population of 3,138,991 people in 817,897 households, of whom 1,621,512 were men and 1,517,479 women. The same population census found that 777,349 people under the age of 14, 2,181,299 people between the ages of 15 and 64, and 180,343 people over 65 years of age lived in Changzhi.
The 2000 population census showed a total population of 3,334,565 people.
Administrative structure
The district-free city of Changzhi consists of four districts , eight districts and an industrial area at the district level as of 2018 . These are:
- Districts Luzhou (潞州 区), Shangdang (上 党 区), Tunliu (屯留 区), Lucheng (潞城 区)
- Districts Xiangyuan (襄垣 县), Pingshun (平顺县), Licheng (黎 城县), Huguan (壶关 县), Zhangzi (长子 县), Wuxiang (武乡 县), Qin (沁县), Qinyuan (沁源县)
- Shanxi Changzhi High-Tech Industrial Area (山西 长治 高新技术 产业 园区)
