The Ministry of Infrastructure, Economy and Sport is one of the five ministries of the Liechtenstein State Administration (LLV). It summarizes the areas of responsibility that are carried out in other countries by the infrastructure , economic and sports ministries. Daniel Risch has been the head of the government since March 30, 2017 .

Infrastructure

The Office for Building and Infrastructure (ABI) is responsible for spatial planning , building law , fire protection , housing subsidies , government buildings, civil aviation , surveying, and the construction and operation of the entire transport infrastructure.

Liechtenstein is the only European country that mainly issues black license plates.

Liechtenstein spatial planning is only a success in the alpine area. Aging was stopped, the proliferation of winter sports was prevented and protection against avalanches and reefs was improved. The valley area, however, is characterized by large urban sprawl . Spatial planning laws failed in the consultation process in 1968 and 1976 and in the referendum in 2002. Housing subsidy consists in supporting the construction or purchase of private residential property through interest-free loans . In the area of civil aviation and surveying, there is close cooperation with the Swiss Federal Office for Civil Aviation and the Swiss Accident Investigation Center (SUST) and with the Federal Office for Topography swisstopo. As early as 1937/38 the country was connected to the Swiss triangulation network.

The Liechtenstein road network comprises 130 kilometers of country roads . The urban sprawl promoted road construction and individual traffic and disadvantaged public transport. In 2015 the government stopped the FL.A.CH S-Bahn project due to discrepancies in funding. The large number of commuters exacerbate the problems of road traffic and obstruct the lines of the LIEmobil bus company .

The Office of Road Traffic (ASV) is responsible for issuing vehicle passes and license plates , the issuing of driver's licenses , acceptance of leaders checks and technical inspection in charge of road vehicles.

economy

The Office for Economics (AVW) fulfills a wide range of tasks in the areas of trade law , labor inspectorate , trade in goods , competition law , consumer protection , brand testing , location promotion , casinos , energy centers and unemployment insurance . The Liechtenstein Labor Market Service (AMS FL) advises the unemployed and operates a job placement platform. The government relies on the Department of Economics to implement economic policy.

The Office for Communication (AK) is the regulatory, supervisory and administrative authority in the field of telecommunications . It promotes effective competition and ensures non-discriminatory access to networks and services.

Sports

The Sports Office (SSP) supports the government in the field of sports. State subsidies were granted for the wide range of gyms, football pitches, swimming pools and tennis courts that began in the late 1950s . Clubs and athletes are supported with funding. Youth and sport are involved in the training of leaders. Because of the small size of the country, many sports are included in the Swiss sports leagues and championships . Sport is not only important for public health, but also serves as an image carrier for the State of Liechtenstein.
