A Sports Ministry is a ministry that deals with the agendas of physical education , the school sports , as well as the competitive sports and the Public Health busy. The portfolio is closely related to the agendas of a ministry of health , education or social affairs . There is also a connection with the Ministry of Defense , for example when many competitive athletes come from military sports , where they have a professional livelihood after their sports career (examples: Austria, Switzerland). In the Federal Republic of Germany, as a result of a Reichstag resolution of February 1914, the Federal Minister of the Interior (as in the Weimar Republic and the Nazi era) performed the function of Minister of the Interior. The scope of responsibility in the individual federal states is very different, but is partly regulated by a sports promotion law.
