Mincho Kolev Nejtschew ( Bulgarian Минчо Колев Нейчев ) (born March 23 . Jul / 4. April  1887 greg. In Stara Zagora ; † 11. August 1956 in Targovishte ) was a Bulgarian jurist and politician. In the Georgiev (2nd) and (3rd) governments he was Minister of Justice from 1944 to 1946, in the subsequent Dimitrov government (1st) Minister for People's Welfare in 1946/47, and in the Chervenkov (2nd) and (3rd) and governments Jugow (1st) foreign minister of his country from 1950 until his death. From 1947 to 1950 he was the head of state of Bulgaria as chairman of the presidium of the National Assembly .

Life

Nejtschew studied law and philosophy in Switzerland , in 1908 he received his doctorate . After returning to Bulgaria, he settled in his hometown as a lawyer and appeared in numerous political trials as a criminal defense lawyer, which helped him to gain nationwide fame. From 1941 to 1943 he was interned in the Krǎsto Pole camp near Xanthi in what was then the Bulgarian occupation zone in Greece .

Political career

In 1920 Nejtschew became a member of the Bulgarian Communist Party (BKP) , in 1921 a member of the local party leadership. He was arrested for participating in the September uprising in 1923 and remained in custody until May 1924. He officially stayed away from the substitute organizations for the banned BKP.

After being released from internment, Nejchev took part in the development of the Bulgarian Patriotic Front . Nejchev had been a member of the Central Committee of the BKP since 1945, a candidate since December 1948, and a full member of the Politburo since August 1949 . Since Nejtschew was considered a follower of the Bulgarian "Little Stalin" Chervenkov, he was removed from the Politburo together with him in 1954 in the course of the de-Stalinization .

In the show trial of Trajtscho Kostov in December 1949 Nejchev was the director appointed by the Politburo.

In accordance with the Bulgarian legal system of the time, Nejchev was also the country's prosecutor general during his time as Minister of Justice . In the summer and autumn of 1947 Nejchev also headed the 55-strong commission that drafted the new constitution of the People's Republic of Bulgaria.

In Sofia a street улица д-р Минчо Нейчев reminds of him, the department of teacher training of the Thracian University of Stara Zagora also bears his name.
