Mirko Casper (born March 1, 1982 in Zell an der Mosel ) is a former German football player . Casper played for Alemannia Aachen from 2005 to 2012 , including in the Bundesliga . He works in the Donnerberg barracks in Eschweiler .
Career
The trained central defender , who played either right or left back during his active career, began playing football at SG Bremm . From there he moved to FSV SALMROHR where the Scouts of Bayer 04 Leverkusen were aware of him. With the Bayer A youth team, Casper reached the final of the German championship in 2001 , but lost 3-2 as a libero against FC Bayern Munich. The following season Casper moved from Leverkusen to SC Fortuna Köln . After an interlude at Yurdumspor Cologne , a temporarily financially well-resourced league club, he aroused the interest of scouts from the second division Alemannia Aachen relatively quickly with his very good performance .
In December 2004 he was officially announced as a new addition to the Alemannia Aachen Amateurs. Head coach Dieter Hecking quickly became aware of Casper through good training impressions . On April 22, 2005 he played his first second division game against Rot-Weiss Essen . Over time, Casper established himself with the Aachen professionals and became a regular player in the promotion season. His contract was prematurely extended to 2008, as he was considered a promising talent. In the Bundesliga season 2006/07 he came seven times used. The season ended with the direct relegation of Aachen.
In the 2007/08 season Casper had to fight for his place on the team. When he briefly returned to the starting line-up in the second half of the season, he tore a cruciate ligament in April 2008 and only played his first game of the 2008/09 season ten months later. In his last Aachen season 2011/12 Casper came on seven missions, in the end the club was relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga.
For the 2012/13 season he moved back to Bayer 04 Leverkusen. As an experienced player in the second team, he took on a leadership role and was given the opportunity to train in the coaching field at the same time. He received a three-year contract in Leverkusen. After Bayer 04 Leverkusen canceled his U-23s, Casper ended his professional career and played one more season for an amateur club from Burscheid until 2015 . Casper holds the B coach license, works as a scout for Bayer 04 Leverkusen and looks after the U-15s there.
