Self-image

The Missionswerk Karlsruhe sees itself as a charismatic community in Karlsruhe with a non-profit mission society and non-denominational free church based on the Bible. Its aim is to spread the Christian faith through evangelism, television broadcasts, telephone devotions, and other media.

building

The Missionswerk has its spatial home in a building complex around the Christ Cathedral on the site of the former Karlsruhe furniture factory in the Grünwinkel district , on the southern bypass opposite the Kühler Krug. The complex of Christ Cathedral , St. John's Chapel , St. Paul's Chapel and ancillary rooms was created by incorporating an older building . The Christ Cathedral was completed in 1989. The facade of the cathedral is adorned with a tall cross that is illuminated by fluorescent lamps at night. The dome of the cathedral is translucent. The handicapped accessible visitor room with its auditorium offers space for 1,800 worshipers. It houses the largest digital / pipe combination organ in Europe with 113 sounding stops, including seven pipe stops.

Until the beginning of 2006, the Missionswerk Karlsruhe operated an outside congregation in the Albstadt district of Tailfingen in the Zollernalbkreis , Baden-Württemberg . This was given to the Christian association Tübinger Offensive Stadtmission, TOS for short. After a transition phase, the TOS Center Swabian Alb was founded in May 2006 from the outer community .
