Life

Vogel's parents divorced early; his father Dennis Vogel then moved to Kiel in the US state of Wisconsin . Mitch's mother married a member of the United States Marine Corps and moved with him to Costa Mesa . When this marriage also fell apart, she moved to Burbank with Mitch and his half-sister, Kitty, who was seven years her junior .

In 1966, at the age of ten, Vogel took acting lessons and in the same year got the title role in the play Tom Sawyer , which was performed in Costa Mesa. Just a year later, he appeared in an episode of the short-lived television series Dundee and the Culhane . Also in 1968 he stood in the comedy film Your, Mine, Ours in front of the camera before he was offered the role of Jamie Cartwright in Bonanza that same year . He should play the role between the ages of 12 and 17. During the 1970s, Vogel also starred in other television series, including The Smoking Guns , The Streets of San Francisco, and Our Little Farm . Vogel had reached the zenith of his success in 1970, when the then 14-year-old was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for his work in the film The Crook . However, Mitch Vogel was one of the few young actors who quickly lost interest in show business. In 1978 he was in the thriller Texas Detour on the side of Patrick Wayne for the last time before the camera.

Mitch Vogel now lives in Southern California . He is a businessman by profession and directs community theaters. He has been married to his wife Christine since 1985; the two have two daughters together, Shauna and Melanie. Today he rarely appears on television, most recently in 2002 when he accompanied a team of journalists to the Ponderosa ranch . Since 1999 he has been involved with A Minor Consideration , a non-profit organization in which “old” child stars support “new” child stars when they fail with their desired careers.
