The Mitchell Point is a headland in the east of Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It marks the southern limit of the entrance to Hill Bay .
Aerial photographs taken by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd. made between 1956 and 1957, were used for mapping in 1959. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the US surgeon Silas W. Mitchell (1829-1914), the founder of neurology in the United States .
