Reviews

Historical background

The word Mof (in the plural moffen) is a derogatory term for a German in Dutch . The word was mainly used since the beginning of the German occupation of the Netherlands and was a synonym for "Nazi" during this time. Accordingly, a local woman who got involved with a German soldier during the occupation was called moffenmeid , moffenhoer or moffengriet .
