Mohamed Obaid Hindi al-Saadi ( Arabic محمد عبيد السعدي, DMG Muḥammad ʿUbaid as-Saʿdī ; born February 24, 1994 in Muscat ) is an Omani sprinter .

Athletic career

Mohamed Obaid al-Saadi gained his first international experience in 2009 at the Asian Indoor Championships in Hangzhou in 2014 , where he was eliminated with 49.02 seconds in the preliminary round of the 400-meter run . He then took part in the Asian Games in Incheon , South Korea for the first time , eliminated over 400 meters in the first round and finished sixth in the Omani 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 07.71 minutes. Also at the Asian Championships in Wuhan the following year he did not qualify for the final in the individual competition, but finished seventh with the 4 x 100 meter relay and sixth with the long sprint relay. He then reached the semi-finals at the Military World Games in Mungyeon in the 200-meter run and was sixth in the 4-by-100-meter relay in 39.81 s. In 2017 he won bronze at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku with the 4 x 400 meter relay and was fifth over the shorter distance. At the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar he reached the semi-finals over 200 meters, retired with the 4 x 100 meter relay in the preliminary run and finished fifth with the long sprint relay in 3: 06.79 min. He then won bronze in the 200-meter run and silver in both sprint relays at the Arab Championships in Radès . He also qualified for the World Championships in London , where he was eliminated with 21.50 s in the first round .

In August 2018 he again took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta , where he set a new national record with 20.74 seconds. In the final he finished seventh in 20.81 s. In addition, he retired with the 4 x 100 meter relay in the first round. The following year he came fifth at the Arab Championships in Cairo over 200 meters and won bronze with the relay. He also made it to the finals at the Asian Championships in Doha , but could not start again there. In addition, he won the bronze medal behind the teams from Thailand and Taiwan with the Omani sprint relay in 39.36 s. At the end of October he reached the semi-finals at the military world games in Wuhan over 200 meters, in which he was eliminated with 21.34 s. With the 4 x 100 meter relay, he won the silver medal behind the team from Brazil in 39.51 s. He also started with the 4-by-400-meter relay and contributed there in the run-up to the finals.
