Career

Born in Iran and living in Germany, Adelkhani joined the amateur team of FC Bayern Munich at the age of 15 and completed four seasons with it until 1966.

For the 1966/67 season he signed the second division Rot-Weiß Oberhausen , for which he was used in two seasons in the Regionalliga West . For the 1968/69 season he moved to league rivals Wuppertaler SV and after one season - via a short stay at Bonner SC - to second division promoted SG Wattenscheid 09 .

The regional league 1971-72 season , he played for the second division promoted VfL Klafeld-Geisweid 08 . After the team could not keep the class, Adelkhani returned to his homeland and played three and four years for Taj Tehran and for FC Shahbaz .

National team

Between 1973 and 1978 Adelkhani was 17 times the shirt of the senior national team of his country and scored two international goals . Equipped with a hard left shot Adelkhani made his debut on 18 August 1973 at the first final between the winners of Group C and D of the qualifiers for the 1974 World Cup , he with the team in Sydney with 0: 3 against the selection of Australia lost .

He was also part of the squad of the national team in qualifying for the 1978 World Cup , but not during the finals because he injured himself in the run-up to the tournament when he saved his daughter from falling down stairs. Thus, the soccer tournament of the 1974 Asian Games in Tehran remained his only major event - which he and his team won on September 16 by beating Israel 1-0 in the final - through an own goal he forced by Itzhak Shum .
