Bishop Moise Dragoș

Moise Dragoș ( lat : Moyses Drágosi ; * August 1726 in Turda ; † April 16, 1787 in Oradea ) was Bishop of Oradea Mare (Oradea) of the Romanian Greek Catholic Church .

Life

Moise Dragoș was ordained a priest on April 26, 1751 . He was pastor and dean in Oradea . On June 23, 1777 he became the first bishop of Pope Pius VI on June 16, 1777 . canonically established diocese of Oradea. He campaigned for the restoration of the Alba Iulia metropolitan area. He died on April 16, 1787 and was buried according to the Romanian Greek Catholic rite in Oradea Cathedral.
